4 Fun Ways to Add Pops of Color to a White Room
Did you read our last blog article? If not, you can click on over here and take a look.
The short version is that we discussed how picking white interior paint isn’t often all that easy, especially since there is an almost endless parade of options to choose from. We offered a few practical tips for finding just the right white for your home, taking factors like levels of lighting into consideration.
Today, let’s assume that you have filled your room with the perfect crisp, clean white. It’s fresh, stylish, and looking just right, but now you’d like to add a little extra color here and there. You know, just for variety and contrast.
Where do you begin?
Strategically Adding Bits of Color to Your White Space
Bright Decorations
Whether it’s through bright pillows, pottery, or throw blankets, using decorations to add color can yield stunning results. The other benefit to this tactic is that you can easily swap out and update your look; it’s as easy as replacing a piece of decor.
Artwork
You can certainly add color to your walls by painting them (this is near and dear to our hearts!), but you also can utilize artwork if you want to maintain a predominantly white room. Like dishes and decor, artwork can be easily swapped out or removed depending on your mood/taste, but it can add a lot of character and style.
Paint Your Ceiling
Many homeowners assume their ceilings need to be white, but that’s actually just not true. Adding color to your ceiling can be beautiful! Just be sure to avoid too dark of a color if the room is smaller or natural light is scarce, otherwise it can feel a little like a lid was snapped over it.
Never Underestimate Floral Arrangements
Why not keep things fresh with flowers? A small arrangement on a coffee table adds vitality to the room, and beautiful pops of natural color.
