Painting Kitchen Cabinets in San Francisco - A Much-Needed Update!
Whether you have a tired, dated color scheme, or would like to give dark wood a brighter look, paint is the key to unlocking the potential hiding within your kitchen’s surfaces.
How about a real-life example?
Painting Over a Tired Faux Cabinet Finish
When we visited our client’s home, we found what was really a beautiful kitchen. The layout and design needed nothing.
The existing faux finish, however, was tired, leaving the space with a yellowish tinge that was clearly begging for something clean, bright, and new.
Taking the existing, fixed colors into consideration, it was decided that we would use Simply White. Pairing beautifully with the existing countertop and backsplash, we knew it would create a crisp contrast to accentuate all of the surfaces involved while providing a more modern look.
Our Kitchen Cabinet Painting Process
- We began with thorough prep, both of the surfaces themselves and the surrounding area. We work hard to contain our work, protecting our client’s homes in the process.
- Next, we thoroughly sanded the cabinets. Sanding helps to create a receptive, ideal surface for paint adhesion. After all, durability and longevity are equally as important as how good a finish looks, especially in the kitchen!
- Finally, we sprayed the cabinets with Simply White.
