Project Color 2011: And the Winner Is
Amazing! As 2010 draws to a close, so does our search for a winner for the sixth annual MB Jessee Project Color, our Painting for Charity giveaway event. This year we received more submissions for Project Color than ever before. And they kept pouring in—from every corner of the San Francisco Bay area—right up until the end. We received so many heartfelt stories of truly deserving nonprofits and organizations. Thank you Bay Area!
The voting was incredibly difficult. The stories & missions of each entry tugged at our heartstrings and it was a daunting task to choose just one to vote for. But the votes are now tallied and the winner is……The Berkeley Food & Housing Project! For forty years the BFHP has been working to ease & end homelessness for men, women & children in Berkeley. Their work involves outreach to homeless veterans, victims of domestic violence, and the mentally ill. BFHP has an amazing & dedicated housing case management team that works incredibly hard to find suitable housing for people on fixed and extremely limited incomes. For Project Color 2011 MB Jessee Painting will be painting the BFHP’s North County Women’s Center on Dwight Way in Berkeley.
Our planning for the project is just getting underway and we’ll be meeting the BFHP in the coming weeks to discuss timelines, colors, and other specifics. But MB Jessee is thrilled to say “congratulations!” to the Berkeley Food & Housing Project and we can’t wait for the painting to begin!
