MB Jessee Painting Achieves Elite National Safety Recognition (and What It Means for Your Project)

When you’re responsible for painting and maintaining a community, building, or business, the stakes are high. You need projects done on time, done well, and on budget. But you also need that work done safely.

At MB Jessee Painting, we believe safety isn’t just a checklist item. It’s the foundation of every successful project, and really elevates the entire experience and outcome.

That’s why we’re proud to share some exciting news: our team has officially earned the elite Summit Safety Certification.

This nationally recognized certification isn’t handed out lightly. It confirms that our training, planning, and on-the-job practices meet the highest standards in the industry. In short: independent safety professionals have reviewed the way we work and we passed with flying colors.

How Did We Earn the Summit Safety Certification?

This isn’t a one-time test; it’s proof of a culture that lives and breathes safety every single day. In fact, the program was recently restructured, with a dedicated committee now overseeing the certification guidelines and compliance.

In a nutshell, contractors must demonstrate not only that they know the rules, but that they live by them on every project.

  • Foundation for Safety: Compliance is just the baseline. Certification requires proving that safety systems are fully implemented, monitored, and maintained.

  • Ongoing Proof: We use tools like SmartSheets to track and document our safety practices in real time.

  • Daily Assessments: Before each project begins, crews review the job, anticipate risks, and answer safety-related questions. Once work starts, crew leaders conduct daily huddles, log safety considerations, and track progress.

  • Hands-On Leadership: Our foremen and project managers spend time every day ensuring crews are aligned on safety protocols.

  • Residential and Commercial Commitment: Whether it’s a single-family home or a high-rise, the same safety standards apply. We don’t cut corners. Ever.

MB Jessee’s Safety Standards in Action

Taking it a step further, our standards also include:

  • Specialized Certifications: Our crews are trained and certified for scaffolding, lifts, swing stage, and lead-safe practices.

  • Ongoing Training: We reinforce skills through morning meetings, on-site huddles, and hands-on training with fall protection systems.

  • Fall Protection Checks: We go beyond using the right equipment. We also monitor expiration dates and ensure every harness and system is within usable life.

  • Lead Safety Practices: Working in older homes and buildings requires special care. We follow EPA lead-safe guidelines and use professional-grade equipment to protect both our team and the families we serve.

As our Production Manager Vicente often says:

“Our goal every day is to return every worker to their family the same way they came in.”

Why Does This Commitment To Safety Matter for You?

All of this might sound good, and important, but how about the real-world impact on your project? As we mentioned above, aside from just working safer, this kind of focus takes the entire process to a whole new level.

  • Fewer disruptions. A safer job site means smoother operations, fewer delays, and less impact on residents, tenants, or employees.

  • Reduced risk. With certified safety practices, liability concerns are minimized for property managers and owners.

  • Confidence in the crew. Every painter on site is trained, equipped, and following proven safety protocols.
Better communication. Safety and planning go hand in hand. Our process ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

  • Consistency across projects. Whether it’s a single building or a multi-property community, you can expect the same level of care and professionalism.

We couldn’t have achieved this without the dedication of our incredible team. Every painter, foreman, and project manager played a role in building the culture of safety that got us here. We’re celebrating this milestone together and using it as motivation to keep raising the bar.

And we’d like to thank all of our clients and partners, many of whom trust us again and again with their properties and projects. We don’t take that trust lightly.

Customer Reviews

“Hello Matt,Just another notice of thanks to your wonderful crew, Rigoberto, Javier and John. They did fantastic work, with Rigo providing meticulous and conscientious attention to the details and excellent woodwork finishing, as evidenced by the beautiful fireplace. Javier did a fantastic job in the bathroom especially, it looks "brand new," and John always does quality work, both with the interior and exterior. I can tell they care about what they do. Rigo's "punch out" was very thorough, too. I will call again when I need some more work and will definitely recommend your company and fine crew. I also felt as a homeowner, I could leave my house in their good hands during the day and that took a lot of worry from me, they were honest, prompt and reliable. They were also very kind, respectful and clean in their work, very professional. Thank you.”

“Matt, We are very happy with how all of the painting worked out. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the work in the bathroom. I liked working with Victor, he and Marvin were extremely conscientious about doing a great job, not just the minimum. I know the front door took a lot longer than you'd expected. But they did it PERFECTLY. We never thought it could turn out like that! Thanks again for the great work. We'll be calling you again in the future!”

“High quality work from a pleasant and qualified staff. Thank you!”

— Paul Markovich

“Everyone I dealt with was nice, helpful, and very professional. The price was reasonable! (I didn't feel like I was getting the "San Francisco price." The attention to detail and work quality was excellent. They did what they said they would do in the exact timeframe they said they would do. Highly recommend!”

— Tim Tyson

“Julie,Just to let you know I am very appreciative of your crew catching the plumbing/mold problem. It was very astute of them. I wanted to let you know that again your crew has done excellent work here, please pass this along to Mr. Jessee. There are some bumps in the road here, but the painting and your crew has not been one of them. Their work is the only thing going right currently, and this crew is very nice and respectful. It is much appreciated. Thank you again.”

“I just wanted to send you an email to say that John did such a great job over here today. He is truly a hard worker. He has the perfect balance of friendliness, honesty, and professionalism. I trust him. He takes the time to do the job to the best of his ability and that is what sets him (and your company) apart from the competition. He didn't make me feel rushed. He really made me feel like our job was the most important thing in the world. Thanks again!”

“In all the years I've worked with MB Jessee, I'm always so impressed by your crews. They are so respectful of everything--you never even know they're there! Except that the paint looks amazing when they're gone. We've had one showing of our home and already have an offer. I'm sure it is because the paint looks so beautiful.”

— Erin T.
Pleasant Hill

“I want to express my thanks for a job well done. The rooms look great and there is no problem with any marks on the all the trim, floor, carpet, etc. The paint job is lovely. I also want to express my thanks for the level of professionalism the foreman showed in running the job. He was very attentive to any changes I needed to make, was extremely careful in getting the faux paint color and effect correct. Thanks so much for a job well done.”

— Suzan D’Arcy

“M.B. Jessee painted the exterior of my Spanish house over 9 years ago, and they did such an incredible job that they are still getting referrals from me today. The paint is holding up perfectly -- there is absolutely no peeling chipping or any other deterioration. I still remember that my final walk-through list consisted of items written on one side of a 3x5 index card (and I'm REAL picky about my house!) However, when Matt and I did that walk-through over HALF the items were no longer an issue, as his team had noticed them first and they had already been resolved.”

— JoAnn Newcomb

“Charles finished yesterday and did a fantastic job. We really enjoyed meeting Charles and having him in our home. He is a great guy in addition to his attention to detail in his work, the protection of our floors, walls and furnishings, and his overall interaction with us both. I would be pleased to recommend him to any of my clients.”

— Ken Morrison

He was punctual, professional, neat and very accommodating ... and went the extra mile. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and family.”
