What’s Included in the Professional Interior Painting Process?

Have you ever wondered what to expect during the interior painting process?

Sure, you’re looking for a beautiful paint job, but what about the other details woven through the whole experience, from the first call to the final walkthrough?

Let’s dig into a few key points; facets of the process that you might not immediately think of, but that have a huge impact. And, if you’re currently looking for a house painter, feel free to use these as talking points to help you find the best professional possible.

1. Feel Valued, Right From Step 1

We’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating… You deserve to feel valued and important, and to have your time respected. We’re talking punctuality, prompt communication, and a detailed estimate that covers all the bases.

2. Health and Safety Protocols

Hiring a house painter always involves trust, but especially these days. A number of our recent reviews, in fact, have specifically mentioned being grateful for our masked painters that respect social distancing and health standards. It’s a big deal!

What’s Included in the Professional Interior Painting Process?

3. Masking (Surfaces, Not Just Faces)

A project starts with prep, and not just actual surface prep. Project containment is key, meticulously protecting surrounding spaces and surfaces. Furniture, flooring, masking off trim and windows, and the list goes on.

4. Protecting Your Floors

A lot of homeowners don’t really consider foot traffic, until the process begins… You don’t need shoes worn across hardwood or carpet, especially as painters come in and out and set up their work stations. Beyond old-school drop cloths (which still do have a place in some cases), we lay down a durable, disposable covering that neatly and securely covers your floors. When necessary, our painters also wear slip-on shoe covers.

5. Communication

Daily communication is a huge part of the process, ensuring that you’re loving the process, the results, and know exactly how your project is progressing. The best way to do this is to have a designated job site leader who is your clear point of contact, and can make sure every detail is on-track and carefully managed.

The takeaway?

You should feel comfortable, confident, and in-the-know every step of the way. If you have any other questions about your painting project or process, feel free to contact us. You can chat with us live right here on our website, or contact us.

“Thank you for the support you have given the Women's Cancer Resource Center over the past year!”

— Margo - Director Women's Cancer Resource Center

“Matt, We are very happy with how all of the painting worked out. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the work in the bathroom. I liked working with Victor, he and Marvin were extremely conscientious about doing a great job, not just the minimum. I know the front door took a lot longer than you'd expected. But they did it PERFECTLY. We never thought it could turn out like that! Thanks again for the great work. We'll be calling you again in the future!”

— Craig
Alameda, CA

“The completed 'Client Satisfaction Survey' we sent in only modestly reflects our total satisfaction with the work. As a retired small business owner, I compliment you on setting 'best practices' that are consistently followed. Everything described in your marketing materials was a reality! The crew is a super bowl team and our neighbors commented on how quiet they were. We are very happy to be a client of MB Jessee.”

“Julie, by the way, I have never been so impressed with the service of a painting job before! It was like magical elves came and painted our walls without us having to do a thing! It looks amazing and just wanted to let you know how happy we are. Thanks”

“Just had MB Jessee paint the interior of our house and they did a wonderful job. They tackled some crazy wallpaper as well as painted some very high ceilings and walls. The whole process was quick and they did a great job! We are very pleased. I was also very impressed by the crew. They were very personable, kind and actually took pride in the work they were doing. In one of our conversations with the lead Ricardo, he actually told me he was very proud of how the rooms had turned out. I agree sir! It turned out great and it's not often you hear someone thinking of your home like they would theirs, and putting that level of work and quality into it. That made a huge difference in how I viewed this company. Ricardo, you were fantastic and thank you for the great job, we will be using you again.”

“I want to express my thanks for a job well done. The rooms look great and there is no problem with any marks on the all the trim, floor, carpet, etc. The paint job is lovely. I also want to express my thanks for the level of professionalism the foreman showed in running the job. He was very attentive to any changes I needed to make, was extremely careful in getting the faux paint color and effect correct. Thanks so much for a job well done.”

— Suzan D’Arcy

“The finish on my kitchen cabinets had failed, becoming tacky and grimy around the handles. M B Jessee gave me a reasonable quote, far below some others, and did an outstanding job, striping the original varnish and refinishing with a new lacquer finish. The cabinets look like new. Work was done 1 day faster than estimated. The crew was extremely hard-working, considerate, and neat. Highly recommend M B Jessee.”

“Julie,Just to let you know I am very appreciative of your crew catching the plumbing/mold problem. It was very astute of them. I wanted to let you know that again your crew has done excellent work here, please pass this along to Mr. Jessee. There are some bumps in the road here, but the painting and your crew has not been one of them. Their work is the only thing going right currently, and this crew is very nice and respectful. It is much appreciated. Thank you again.”

“Today I received a beautiful bouquet from your company. It was totally unexpected and very much appreciated--a lovely surprise. Also today, your crew finished my job. I am so pleased with all their fine work. Richard is absolutely amazing and a total delight to work with. He was also extremely helpful during the paint color process. The interior work in my home far exceeded my expectations. A big thank you to you and the crew for an outstanding job. Thank you, thank you for a terrific job!”
