If this gorgeous house looks familiar, it may be because you saw it on our social media outlets. We love showcasing our work in general, but the work we completed here had a couple of unique aspects in particular that make it stand out.
Surface Preparation and Extensive Wood Repair
We believe in creating beautiful, lasting results. One essential step in making this goal a reality is to never minimize surface preparation, but rather ensure that what is under the paint is just as solid and healthy as the paint itself. Otherwise you’re building on a weak foundation.
In this particular case, we had extensive wood rot to deal with.
For the smaller, more delicate areas within the molding around the trim, we used epoxy to repair the space and eliminate the rot issue, while the large sections were replaced with new wood. This was a widespread problem, but our craftsmen did a fantastic job with seamlessly blending the repairs.
The windows were comprised of smaller glass squares which needed to be handled very carefully. We applied a liquid mask over the glass, allowing us to paint the wooden framework and keep the process neat and clean. At the end of the day, we couldn’t be more pleased by how this home turned out. It’s an added bonus to be able to give our clients the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the rot is now a non-issue.
