Restoring and rejuvenating the exterior of a multi-unit San Francisco property

We had the opportunity to complete an exterior repaint for a Bay Area property management team, completely refreshing a multi-unit San Francisco home. The group is very selective about the professionals they recommend to their owners, and awarded us this job after ending their working relationship with the previous painting company. This was our first project completed for the group; we certainly appreciated their trust, and also the subsequent opportunities we’ve had to finish additional work for them.

Exterior painting in the Bay Area: a closer look at our process

This beautiful property, built in 1909, exemplifies a bygone era of San Francisco architecture. Not only was this an opportunity to refresh and restore the surfaces, but also to create a new palette that would accentuate the unique details and craftsmanship.

Our process included:

Providing a detailed estimate, factoring in all key considerations
Scaffolding installation
Extensive surface preparation
Necessary repairs
Sprayers were used to efficiently paint the siding
Detail work was hand-brushed

We selected Sherwin-Williams Rejuvenate for this application. It’s a specialized paint/primer combination, formulated to maximize adhesion. Thanks to its lower sheen, it also gives older, more worn siding a smooth, forgiving finish.
