What Kind of Training Do New Painters Get?

When we hire new painters, we put them through a carefully-designed apprenticeship program to help them become skilled in all areas of their work. This includes teaching and practice in our shop, as well as supervised on-the-job teaching and implementation. We cover a full range of topics in training:

Surface preparation
Ladder usage
Equipment usage
Equipment maintenance
Paint products
Sandpaper and tape usage

Our training program is not impersonal and standardized; instead, we focus on helping each individual develop his or her maximum potential in small-group settings. You would have a hard time finding any painting company who trains their employees more thoroughly than MB Jessee!

Ongoing Training for Excellence and Career Advancement

Once a painter has left the apprenticeship stage, the training is not over. We conduct regular safety lessons and daily safety discussions. When a painter wants to learn a specialized skill, such as stucco matching or spray finishes, we provide this training by appointment.

Also, experienced painters who want to become crew leaders can get additional training in a variety of topics for career advancement:
